News Release - Captain Michele A. Webb Retirement

Captain Michele A. Webb announced her retirement from the Mansfield Division of Police effective August 6, 2010.


Captain Webb was appointed to the department on March 3, 1989, promoted to Sergeant on March 21, 1992, to Lieutenant on July 14, 2000, and on February 14, 2005 she was appointed to Captain.


For the last five and one-half years Captain Webb has been the Operations Commander of the Special Operations Bureau, overseeing of the Detective Section, Special Investigative Section and the Crime Lab. Before her current assignment she was the Night Shift Watch Commander for five years, supervised the Jail and Motor Maintenance Sections for five years, and was Sergeant of the Patrol Bureau’s Night and Afternoon Watches after her promotion in 1992.


During her career with the department she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Mount Vernon University and graduated from Police Executive Leadership College in 2002.


Captain Webb was instrumental in assisting with the reimplementation of the Police Chaplain Program, developing the Citizens on Patrol Program and the Juvenile Crime Prevention Academy. Her efforts were critical to the department receiving accreditation status from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies in 2009. She served as the department’s liaison officer to the Police-Community Relations Commission since 2004. She represented the department on the United Way Committee.


Captain Webb is known for her hard work, dedication, initiative and positive attitude toward her work and co-workers. She consistently demonstrates a high degree of skill, integrity, perseverance in her job, and exemplifies the best qualities of a law enforcement professional. She has received numerous Special Commendation Awards, letters of recognition, and letters of appreciation from citizens and fellow law enforcement personnel. In 2007 she received the Supervisor of the Year Award, and the TWIN Award in 2008.


Michele has our congratulations upon her retirement and our heartfelt thanks for her many years of loyal service. We wish her the greatest success and happiness in the future.
