Weather permitting, three Mansfield City Swimming Pools will open this Saturday, June 19, at Noon. Pools opening this Saturday are Liberty, Linden and Ford Hill pools. The fourth pool, Unity Pool on Cleveland Avenue, is scheduled to open on Friday, June 25.
The delay at Unity Pool is due to the lack of favorable weather in recent weeks needed to complete the protective coating. The opening of the other three pools is not affected.
The Mansfield City swimming pool season is set to run seven days per week, noon to 6:00 p.m., June 19 through August 22, weather permitting. Admission prices remain unchanged: $1.50 for adults and teens 13 years and older, $0.75 for youth ages 7 through 12 years. Children 6 years and younger are free.
The Mansfield City pools are maintained by the City of Mansfield and operated under contract by the Mansfield Area Y. The 2010 pool season is funded by generous grants from the Richard G. and Helen Taylor Fund and other funds of the Richland County Foundation, as well as numerous individuals and businesses located here in Mansfield.
Questions regarding the Mansfield City pools may be directed to Mr. Gary Foster, Operations Supervisor, at 419-755-9820.
