Migrated from Jamaica in 2000. In August 2005, she and her husband moved to Mansfield with their three kids ages 13, 9, and 3 years old. Unfortunately, her husband passed, as a result of gun violence in 2013. Now almost 20 years after making Mansfield her home, all the children are adults working and pursuing their careers and she is proud to say they grew up in the Fourth Ward.

She is the Treasurer of the Mansfield Unit of the NAACP, a Finance Assistant at her Church, and a Board Member of Beginning Again a 501c3 nonprofit organization. She is also a former Board member of NECIC where she served from 2020 – 2023. She is also a co-founder of the Welcome Community Garden at the corner of South Benton St. and Marion Ave. She has spent many years giving back to the community with a history of volunteering with the Raemelton Therapeutic Equestrian Center, Mansfield Richland County Public Library, NECIC, Salvation Army Thanksgiving Giveaway, St Peters Feed the Needy, and a variety of community gardens.

Professionally, she is an Accountant having earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a focus in Accounting and Finance from the University of Technology in Jamaica, and a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Nova Southeastern University in Florida.

“I love Mansfield and I want to serve my community where I can work with others to improve the quality of life of the people within the community.  I want to see youth being more involved in improving themselves by acquiring a skill or for them to utilize the opportunities that will improve their quality of life. I am heartbroken by the recent gun violence in Mansfield that has taken too many young lives. I hope to work with individuals and organizations to create resources to help young people in the community see their value and to find more productive ways to use their time and skills to uplift themselves and the community as a whole.”
