Laura Burns grew up in Mansfield and in 2010 moved into the 1st Ward. She found herself advocating for her friends and neighbors to resolve their concerns with the city and was appointed to City Council in January 2020. In addition to serving as 1st Ward on the council, Laura works full time as a data coordinator for Charles River Laboratories. Her husband, Matthew Burns, has worked for DRM Productions since his graduation from the Pittsburgh Institute of Art in 1999. Together they are raising two children and love to be involved in the community.
